The Royal Oak - Hawkeridge
We believe that the Royal Oak was built in the early 1800's, and we would love to know exactly when. We understand that the building, having been derelict for about 3 years in the early 1980's, was bought by Mike and Lu Duhig.
John & Mich Stratton purchased the business in the winter of 2005. Through a conversion of the skittle alley to the dining room and enhancements to the Garden, they developed the business through quality food and service. Dean and Karen became the new owners in the February of 2008 and on behalf of the local community and regular customers, Thank John & Mich, wishing them the very best in their retirement from the trade.

Mike and Lu restored the building and developed it into pretty much the building we see today. Some years later they sold the Royal Oak to Tony & Margaret who ran the business until Tony's untimely demise recently.
